Silvia Lorenzani is Associate Professor of Mathematical Physics at Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches 'Theoretical Mechanics' and 'Methods and Models for Statistical Mechanics'. She graduated from the University of Bologna in both Physics and Mathematics, and obtained her PhD degree from the University of Goettingen. She is author of several research articles mainly in the field of rarefied gas dynamics and microfluidics, but also on turbulence and hydrodynamic instabilities. Since 2003 she is a member of the National Group for Mathematical Physics(GNFM-INdAM); since 2020 she is an Editorial Board Member of the scientific journal 'Fluids' and since 2022 she is an Editorial Board Member (as Review Editor) of 'Frontiers in Physics-Fluid Dynamics.
