Altunkan Hizal borned in Turkey in 1942. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of the Middle East Technical University(METU), Ankara, Turkiye in 1964, 1966, and 1970, respectively. He did a postdoctoral study at Birmingham University, Birmingham, U.K. in 1971-1975 and scientific consultancy to ERA/RFTC UK in 1980-1981. In 1988 he became a full professor at METU. He also worked as a consultant scientist in the Hittite Microwave Corporation Boston/USA in 2001 - 2004. Since 2009 he has been working as a consultant scientist for Aselsan Inc. A military electronics foundation company in Ankara/Turkey. His principles areas of interest include electromagnetic theory, microwaves, antennas and propagation, with applications to radar and communication technologies.
