ProfessorJianda Shao, Optica Fellow,SPIE Fellow, Vice President of the Chinese Optical Society, and Chair of SPIE International Conference on Pacific Rim Laser Damage, joined Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, after he got his BS degree in 1986 from Zhejiang University. He received his MS and PhD degree from SIOM in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He severed as a visiting scientist in University of Reading from 1994-1995 and in Institute of LAMEL of Bologna from 1998-1999.His research work mainly focused on the research and development of laser components,optical materials, optical processing, and optical measurementfor ICF
